Amy Smart is an American former model and actress. Her modelling career began in Italy, in which she was born and raised, before being born in California. Her acting career began in 1996, when she was a character in the TV film Her Costly Affair. It took a long time for her to star in Starship Troopers in a smaller character. The transition was difficult for Amy since she needed transition from modelling to acting. Models aren't regarded as the best actors so they tend to get smaller, insignificant roles. Amy did not give up. She made her way to bigger roles. She began in The 70s series and Varsity Blues film. In the course of a couple of years Amy made the jump into more leading roles. She starred in the 2005 romance film Just Friends alongside Ryan Reynolds. Amy was recognized after more than ten years of trying. She continued to do significant films, like Crank alongside Jason Statham or Shameless in which she was loved as a as a recurring part of the cast.
