Lucy Liu was born in the United States. Liu is an American singer, actress and voice-over artist. An attractive and intelligent actor, she is an inspiration for many Asian actors who wish to make it big in Hollywood. She gained fame after several popular roles in shows. For instance, in her role in the Ally McBeal series, where she played Ling Woo the villainous character. The fame she gained from the show was translated into film roles such as Shanghai Noon or Charlie's Angels. She delivered a stunning performance in the role of Japanese O-Ren, a gangster from Japan (Quentin Tarantino) in Kill Bill Volume 1 by Quentin Tarantino. In the same time frame she also acted as the lead in some failures on the box-office such as Rise: Blood Hunter. In animated movies such as Kung Fu Panda, Tinker Bell and others she voiced characters with prominent voices. Mia Mason's role on the small screen as a character in Cashmere Mafia did not produce anything of note. The role she played in the critically acclaimed police drama series Southland allowed her to regain her status as an actress of note.
