Lee

Lee Roy Selmon's story combines the football scholarship of his parents and a commitment to the community. First family, he's the youngest of the nine children of Lucious Selmon and Jessie raised on a farm in Eufala, Oklahoma. Two soccer. He is among three brothers who played for Oklahoma. The three brothers were all All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey, Lee Roy, and Lucious Jr. Dewey started the 1973 season. Lee Roy received the Outland and Lombardi Awards for being the top lineman from the United States. For three seasons as a starter Oklahoma was 32-1-1 and won two national championships. In 1975, the National Football Foundation named him as a Scholar-Athlete three times time in 1975. Selmon earned a degree in education. Lee Roy was involved in volunteer work ten hour per week while he attended college. Following graduation Lee Roy moved to Tampa where he spent nine years playing for Tampa's Buccaneers. Three times he was selected All-Pro. He began his business career. He was hired in 1988 as an Account Relation Officer for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He also worked with the following organisations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It was the Junior Chamber of Commerce honored Lee Roy in 1982 for being one of the top 10 young men of the United States. Lee Roy weighed 256 lbs and was a tall of 6'2 inches. In his time at college, he was the captain of the 1975 team. In 1993, he joined the university of south Fla's athletic department as its Director of Athletics as an associate. He was named to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1988, and the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994 and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. In 1995, the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation awarded the Distinguished American Award for 1989 to Lucious Selmon, Jr. The award ceremony was conducted by Henry Bellmon govenor of Oklahoma.
